This morning, Flying Scotsman hauled the Royal Train into Pickering Heritage Railway Station as part of its centenary tour of the UK and to mark 50 years of North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Inside the motive power depot at Bridgnorth, SVR engineers maintain, overhaul and restore the railway’s steam locomotives. Usually, it all happens behind closed doors, but on selected weekends in June and July, that’s set to change.
