Members of the Yorkshire Wolds Railway have been making the final preparations for their annual model railway show that steams in to Driffield on Saturday 22 March.
The two halves of the Great Central Railway – one in Leicestershire, the other in Nottinghamshire – are coming together for a special joint event on the 5th and 6th of April.
Visitors to Stephenson Steam Railway will be given then opportunity to take control of a classic British Rail Class 03 diesel locomotive as part of an exciting new driving experience.
History will be made on the Swanage Railway this spring as a 1920s Great Western Railway ‘Hall’ class locomotive visits the line for the first time. The six-engine passenger and freight Spring Steam Gala takes place from Friday, March 28, to Sunday, March 30 2025.
2025 will see the National Railway Museum celebrate its 50th birthday, as well as the 200th anniversary of the modern railway, with a host of exciting exhibitions and events.
