During the journey from Birmingham city centre to the North Pole, scenes from the movie vividly come to life as dancing Chefs and Waiters arrive serving cookies and hot chocolate. The Chefs show pages from the beautifully illustrated book for the whole carriage to follow and families who bring their own copies can read along too. As the adventure continues, key elements of the story — both inside and outside the train — spring to life and on arrival at the North Pole, Santa will welcome the train with his sleigh, a bag of toys and a giant Christmas tree. After THE POLAR EXPRESSTM has slowed to a stop, Santa appears on the train!
The adventure is not over. As the train departs the North Pole for the return voyage home, Santa presents each and every child, from 0 – 110!, with their very own ‘First Gift of Christmas’, a silver bell from his sleigh. Reflecting on the story, we remind everyone to check their pockets for holes!
Chefs on board will lead the passengers in singing Christmas Carols as the train heads back to Moor Street station. As passengers depart the train the magic and fun continues as the children have a chance to see what the Elves have created in their workshops and to visit the post room to write and send their letters to Santa. Official THE POLAR EXPRESS™ souvenirs are also available for purchase in the Elves workshop and online at www.ThePolarExpressBirmingham.com.
