TYSELEY Locomotive Works is steaming ahead with plans to launch its own Train Operating Company, and its share issue for the purpose was nearing its £800,00 target as we closed for press.
Adrian Shooter, the chairman of Tyseley’s negotiating team, said: “We are discussing various detail issues with members of the Office of Rail and Road regarding our application for a train operating licence. We expect to have our licence by summer. It could be sooner.”

Meanwhile, commercial manager Ben Mason reported that the public steaming of Clun Castle on Saturday, April 14 at Tyseley, turned out to be a successful and enjoyable day.
He said: “We are incredibly close to reaching our £800,000 minimum target required to launch our Train Operating Company. We have been in constant touch with the ORR and Network Rail regarding a safety certificate, passenger licence and track access agreement and are making encouraging progress.”
