I live in Wroughton and a few weeks ago I attended an exhibition put on by the Science Museum to advertise its intentions to build a new building at the Wroughton Airfield site at last.
I was advised at that time that they had the funding and I have recently learned that their plans are now with the council for planning permission.
Apart from the fact that this means the railway items in their stock will be displayed, it crossed my mind that this would be a wonderful site for Coventry’s closed Electric Railway Museum people if they could do a deal.

Being an ex-airfield there is a lot of space and I believe it should be able to put in a circle of track for demonstration running (taking power from generators).
As a semi-retired permanent way engineer, the track potential interests me greatly.
