The Severn Valley Railway is hosting a mini-festival of traditional British dance performances on Saturday, July 20. Six dance groups are travelling the line to entertain passengers at stops along the route.
Styles of dance include Morris, step clog, garland, Welsh Border and North West, and performances will take place at Kidderminster, Bewdley and Bridgnorth stations and The Engine House at Highley.
“We are expecting a wonderfully joyous atmosphere,” said Lewis Maddox, the SVR’s visitor engagement manager. “We have dance groups coming from far and wide, including Wales, the North-West, Shrewsbury and Stourbridge. All our visiting groups are accompanied by traditional musicians, and the whole spectacle is guaranteed to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face.”
