The Hunter Valley Railway Trust is a railway museum in North Rothbury, New South Wales which holds an annual steamfest event which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year over the weekend of April 9-10.
New South Wales main line steam Quadrophenia!
In what is surely a world first, four steam locomotives each hauling trains, raced four Tiger Moth biplanes from Hanbury Junction, Newcastle to Maitland on four parallel lines, a distance of 13 miles. 80,000 people attended this year’s event.
