Heritage Railway reader, David, has been busy. Here’s a collection of his best photographs.
On his first photo (above), David said: “LNER B1 no 61306 Mayflower seen at the front of the train after piloting 35018 British India Line over Shap Summit from Carlisle.”
Secondly, David showed off this picture, “prior to the climb up to Ais Gill the support crew of Mayflower seen topping up the engines tender.”

This impressive snowy photo shows Mayflower and British India Line seen at work as they make their way towards Garsdale.
“British India Line and Mayflower ended up being stopped outside Garsdale owing to a frozen signal alongside a caution for icicles at the tunnels.”
Lastly, David sent in this photograph, and said: “After dusk British India Line is seen in Preston coupled inside the B1 as train engine. The two engines were waiting for the road to return to Carnforth.”
