The Nene Valley Railway Wagon Group is offering a unique opportunity to join it for a photographic charter with A1 Class No 60163 Tornado running at the head of its demonstration goods train.
This event is planned for Friday, May 24 between Yarwell and Peterborough Nene Valley Railway (PNVR) stations, with run-pasts through Wansford Tunnel, Wansford station, River Nene Bridge, Mill Lane, Longueville Junction and PNVR. There will also be cameos at Wansford involving loading/unloading and the opportunity for shots on shed in Wansford Yard at the end of the day.
The full details of the movements will not be able to be released until just prior to the event due to the direction the locomotive will be facing on arrival from the main line. However, the wagon group has been working hard over the last few months to vacuum-fit the entire demonstration rake of 18 wagons in preparation for the charter. The rake will be prototypical of an East Coast express goods train.
