The famous locomotive will end its centenary year with a visit to the Locomotion museum in Shildon.

Locomotion in Shildon, County Durham will host Flying Scotsman this Christmas as the final event in the locomotive’s centenary year.

Visitors can see Flying Scotsman at the museum between 16 December 2023 and 7 January 2024. Entry is free but tickets must be booked in advance.
The specially-commissioned short film Flying Scotsman: 100 Years, 100 Voices, showcasing stories from everyday people about their strong connection to the locomotive,will be screened at the event.
Visitors will also be able to access Flying Scotsman’s footplate, a host of free family events and activities taking place in the museum, and see the museum’s main hall with more than 70 rail vehicles.
Students from the nearby St. John’s CE Primary School had the chance to see the locomotive arrive on 14 December.
